This video is from my recent day of nature photography at Merritt Island, near Titusville, Florida. Just off Hwy 3, as it crosses Haulover Canal, there is a viewing station where you can usually see manatees up close. If you are in the area, it is well worth the time. While you are there, there are quite a few wonderful birding roads in the area, including the BioLab Road and the Black Point Nature Drive.

Manatees are mammals. They belong to a group called Sirenia, which also includes the Dugong.

Have you ever been on a whale watching tour? If you have you should post pictures from that! Manatees are very cool animals, they look like sea otters!
