OK, how good are your eyes? How many flowers can you find in this photo?
Well, I can't tell you how many flowers are in the photo, because I am too lazy to count them all. I can tell you that there are hundreds.
This flower, Echinacea, is a member of the family Asteraceae, which are composite flowers. Each of the structures that looks like a flower is actually an inflorescence (flower cluster), made up of many examples of two different kinds of flowers. Each of the things that looks like a petal is actually a ray flower. In the center, each of the small, structures is a disk flower.
Asteraceae is one of the largest families of plants, including sunflowers, dandelions, thistles, marigolds, sinnias, daisies, asters, chrysanthemums, and more than 20,000 other species.

Number of flowers in picture
First there are the seven obious ones in the foreground but the challenge is to find the ones in the background that have intentionally been put out of focus. I am not sure but if I had to guess I would say there are fifty-eight flowers in the photo. That is total including the ones in both the foreground and the background. Sorry if I posted twice I didn't intentionally post the first one.
