Why is the image you see in a drop of water upside down?

Answer:

The water drop acts as a lens. Refraction bends the light towards towards the center, With the rays converging at a focal point. Once the light passes that focal point, the light rays continue on the same path, which causes the image to appear upside down. It is also reversed left to right.
