Good thinking! You can't fry things in a microwave oven. With a skillet on the stove, the burner heats the skillet, which heats the oil, which heats the food.

Actually, the water has a much higher specific heat (4.1 kJ/kg.K) than the oil ( 1.6 kJ/kg.K), so with an equal amount of heating, the oil would get hot faster.

No, water is not magnetic. That requires all of the molecules to align in the same direction, and water molecules move around too much for that.
