Bones

I loved your bone video I`m sure to watch the other ones too. Also I have a large bone colection myself.

Excellent..

I found this video very helpful. I live in the woods so when I can find a bird, I'll make sure to use your tips. I'm Homeschooled so this counts as a part of my classes.

Food

Did you eat the chicken when you finshed diseting it

Yes, it made marvelous

Yes, it made marvelous chicken salad.

Interesting but not appetizing

I'm a vegetarian so it was hard for me to get through this video. :) But my goal is to watch all the videos, so I watched it, covering my eyes at some parts. But it's interesting!!

Leia R.

Why?

Why do most animal limbs have one bone, then two? What purpose does that serve?

Good question. Things would

Good question. Things would probably work just as well with two bones, and then one. It is one of many skeletal similarities that are shared by vertebrates. The pattern works, so there is no reason for it to change.

thanks

dear robert

I am glad I can use these videos to teach the kids.......so I don't have to get my hands messy! And yes, we laughed at the dance at the end.

XD

The Chicken dance was so funny! I almost cried! Double thumbs up again, Mr. Krampf. :D

I agree with you that we need

I agree with you that we need to think of where our food comes from. The main reason was that because of the way it is processed, raw chicken has a greater potential for salmonella and other bacteria. Thank you.

WOW!

Wow!At thanksgiving time I am going to "diesect" our turkey and eat it!!!!!!

Nuh, uh!

I have to say it is cool, but YOU spelled "dissect" wrong. YOU spelled it "diesect". It's not the same thing, is it? YOU better watch your spelling and grammar, or you are going to hear a lot of spelling replies from me. Please don't send me an email, just put a reply out on here.

this video makes me

this video makes me hungry!!!!! lol :))

Yum!

Yummy... jk

Very interesting!

We will never look at a chicken the same way again! As we have a total of 6 birds in our family (Budgies and Parakeets) it is very interesting to study them and your video gave us a lot to think about! We love starting our day with "The Happy Scientist"!

Excellent!

I can handle doing this with my sixth grade students. :) I agree with you that we need to think of where our food comes from. Life does sustain life.

Cooked vs. Raw

You could just as easily dissect an uncooked chicken. Have you noticed advantages one way or the other? Does cooking it make the muscle groups easier to separate? Can you find tendons as easily in a cooked chicken?

I considered using a raw

I considered using a raw chicken, but decided to go with a cooked one for several reasons. The main reason was that because of the way it is processed, raw chicken has a greater potential for salmonella and other bacteria. Cooking does make it easier to separate muscle groups, and is less "icky" for kids. I also feel that using the cooked chicken serves as a reminder that it was a living thing, not just "food".

interesting

that was a very cool but odd video i will want to be you some day
