Rock Salt Or Regular Salt?

I Asked My Grandpa If I Could Make It And He Said I Needed To Use Rock Salt
Do I Use Rock Salt?
If I Do Can I Use Regular Salt?
Reply Quick Please Because I Really Want Homemade Ice-Cream!!! :)

You can use either kind, but

You can use either kind, but for this experiment, regular salt works better. The smaller pieces give more surface area, and so the ice cream freezes faster.

milk? cream?

I thought ice-cream required CREAM rather than milk?

That depends on the recipe.

That depends on the recipe. Many do use cream, but quite a few use milk, and prefer the lighter texture, especially when adding fruit or other flavors. The nice thing about this simple recipe is that you can grab the ingredients at just about any grocery/gas station, making it easy to make a refreshing treat almost anywhere, even in the desert.

Hmm. Are you sure you used enough salt? That makes a BIG difference, and it is the thing that causes the most problems. You want a LOT of salt.
