What is Science?

IOWA and VIRGINIA STANDARDS PART 2! ;)

Hello, Happy Scientist!

Well, I a m brilliant. I cannot seem to find the correct area to leave you a comment on standards again. Anyhow - I was looking around and it seems that South Carolina, Massachusetts and Missouri are the highest ranking states for the standardized testing. If you only worked on the three, it seems you wouldn't have to work on so many??? (Open for some constructive criticism!) ;)

Thank again!

Marti, Josh and Cameorn Barrett :) :) :)

Thanks!

This was a very fun video to make. Most of it was taped at the ranch where we were staying, just outside Kanab, Utah. A beautiful place, and I enjoyed every one of those 32 takes.

religion is it partially science?

I always enjoy your videos and greatly appreciate all your work. One comment you made, religion and science don't use the same tools, interested me. As a biblical studies scholar I would like to say that many of the same tools are used, especially in looking at archeological effects on biblical studies. One big problem we have is the lack of communication between anthropological and cultural sciences and those of biblical studies. This is not to say I'm looking for historical accuracy in using science; this I do not believe in. However, I do need to know a bit about science to know how the people lived, how the texts survived, how they could have been written, etc....

Religion and science

Very true! The tools of science can be and are used to examine the parts of a religion or belief that are based on evidence from the natural world, such as archaeological sites and historic documents. It is the supernatural, the parts that are based on faith instead of physical evidence that science is not equipped to study.

What about the study of faith and how one attains faith?

Since humans are part of the natural world, wouldn't the study of how humans attain faith be part of Science? It seems like that would a slippery towards the study of how humans conceive of the supernatural.

Studying human behavior is

Studying human behavior is definitely a part of science. That is something that you can observe, test, and measure. It is when you go beyond evidence that can be observed, tested, and measured that you go beyond science.

definition of science

Thank you Mr. Krampf for your thorough explanation of science and for giving attention to it. Our family enjoyed watching it very much. We also found it hard to see how you would be able to get down off that tall stack of books! Whoa! =D
