At the angle that I took the photo, the strands of web appeared to be very close together. This caused them to act as a diffraction grating to split the sunlight into different colors. Diffraction gratings have a series of tiny, parallel grooves or lines that scatter light based on its wave length. This is the same phenomenon that causes the colors when you look at the surface of a CD or DVD.
