Another garden find. What should you do if you see this beautiful creature in your garden?
Answer:
Well, the answer depends on how you feel about your flowers. The is the caterpillar of the Variegated Fritillary, a beautiful butterfly. (See below) The caterpillar eats the leaves of violets, passion vine, pansies, and several other garden plants. If you are fiercely protective of your plants, you would want to move the caterpillar to another area with suitable plants. On the other hand, if you are willing to share a few of your flowers with the caterpillar, you will be rewarded with a beautiful butterfly in the near future.
