Microscopic creature
I photographed this wonderful, microscopic creature in a drop of water from our yard. What is it, and why is it so amazing?

Answer:

This is a rotifer, one of the smallest animals on Earth. It is as small as many protists, but it is not a protist. Where protists are made up of a single cell, the rotifer is made up of hundreds of cells, and is classified as part of the animal kingdom.
