What is special about the way this plant obtains nutrients?
Answer:
This is a Bladderwort plant (Utricularia sp.) Like Sundews, Pitcher Plants, and Venus Flytraps, the Bladderwort traps insects and other small animals. Each of the tiny spheres on the plant is a trap. When something touches the opening of the trap it expands rapidly. This pulls water and tiny insects into the trap where they decompose and provide nutrients for the plant.
