What is this bird's name, and why is it so confusing?
Answer:
This is a Western Tanager. The confusing part is that it is not really a Tanager (family Thraupidae). Instead, it is a member of the Cardinal family, Cardinalidae.

Question:
I weighed this plastic, storage bag while it was empty. Then I opened it to fill it with air. Sealing the bag again, I put it back on the scale. Was its weight the same, more, or less? Why?
