Many birds feed their young by sticking the food down their throats. With the Roseate Spoonbill, obviously that won't work. How do they feed their young?
Answer:
Baby Spoonbills do not have a spoon bill. Instead, their beaks are long and tubular. The adult will partially regurgitate food and open its mouth to let the babies reach into their throat for food, the reverse of the way most birds feed their young.
