Calico Crabs are adapted to live in a very special environment. Where do they live?

Answer:

Calico crabs are adapted for life in the surf zone of sandy beaches. This is an area where the sand is constantly being shifted by waves. To live in that area, the Calico Crab has to have a very thin, light shell to let it swim in the surf. The thin shell means that it needs good camouflage, to avoid predators and hide from the animals it eats. The shells are so thin that it is rare to find a whole one. Usually, you only find bits.
