I photographed this large spider eating a dragonfly. As I watched, I noticed the two tiny spiders. Why are they in the web?
Answer:
The small spiders are kleptoparasitic spiders. Instead of building their own web, they steal food from the webs of other spiders. Because they are small and fast, they can usually get away with the theft, but occasionally, they wind up as a snack instead.
