As with cats and dogs, a Bison's tail is a pretty good indicator of its mood. A Bison that is relaxed will hold its tail down, as in this photo. When nervous or excited, the tail will be held out behind, and when threatened or angry, it holds its tail straight up. This can be a good thing to know when you are photographing them.
