This is a good example of the need to read the news carefully. Yellowstone (one of my favorite places) has been rising several inches per year, which had geologists a little worried about the potential for a huge volcanic eruption.

Many of the recent articles focus on the potential danger. Once you read deep enough into the recent articles, you find that over the past couple of years, that rise has slowed tremendously, and seismic studies have shown that the magma movement is miles deeper than was thought, making it much less likely for a catastrophic eruption in the near future.
