How much radiation exposure do you get from a CAT scan? (Yes, this is me, and yes, this is actually an MRI, but I did not have a CAT scan, so this will have to do.)

Answer:

Depending on the area for the CT scan, and the number of "slices", the radiation exposure can be from 1-10 millisieverts. A dose of 1000 millisieverts (one sievert) can cause radiation sickness. At Chernobyl, the radiation exposure was up to 6000 millisieverts per hour.
