Why do the windows on airplanes have rounded corners?

Answer:

In a structure that is under stress, such as an airplane, ship, or even your car, a window with sharp corners would concentrate any bending of the structure into the corners. This makes the corners much more likely to crack or tear. That is why portholes on ships are round, and why even the metal frame of car windows usually have rounded corners.
