This is an Eastern Indigo Snake, one of the longest, native snakes in the United States, up to 9 feet. It also has one of the most varied diets of any snake in the world, including invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. It is also one of the few snakes that eat turtles. Even with their large size, they are harmless to people.
